The Lord of Mysteries anime debuts with stunning visuals and a fast-paced story, leaving fans divided over its rushed start and complex narrative setup
The anime Lord of Mysteries, which is based on the famous Chinese web novel by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, finally came out. Only two episodes have aired so far, but already, fans are talking a lot. The show brings out a dark and mysterious world full of secrets, which many people liked. But still, some watchers think the story is moving too quickly and missing the build-up that it probably needs.
The main character is Klein Moretti, a man who ends up in a place filled with strange powers and secret groups. He’s not just trying to survive, but also dealing with his mind, power, and what is real. Since the original novel is deep and layered, the anime had a lot to live up to. But right now, some think it’s skipping parts or rushing through events too fast, which might make problems later on.
Lord of Mysteries Anime: Pacing Issues Make Some Fans Concerned
Fans on Reddit and other sites have already started saying things about how fast the anime is going. One person said it might be hard for new watchers to follow, since they don’t know the novel. Another one thought maybe the fast start was on purpose — to hook people in quickly. Maybe after a few episodes, the story will slow down and take its time.
It’s not the first time anime has had this kind of issue. For example, Demon Slayer had people saying some parts felt rushed or dragged. But over time, they figured it out with strong direction and good emotions. So maybe Lord of Mysteries can do that too. It just needs the right balance going forward.
There’s no doubt the anime looks good. The streets are gloomy, the mystery is thick, and there’s a feeling of danger in the air. All that gives it a special style. But even with that, just nice backgrounds and music won’t be enough to make the anime stand out forever.

The novel had slow build-ups that helped readers really understand things. Anime works differently, though, so the storytelling has to be clear and steady. If it only shows off style without giving enough time for the plot to grow, people might forget the show later, even if it looked nice.
We don’t know yet how the rest of the anime will go. Maybe the pacing will fix itself and become something great. There’s already a big fanbase from the books, and the core story is strong. What it needs now is careful storytelling and not trying to rush through everything.
Lord of Mysteries is now streaming on Crunchyroll, if you want to see where the journey begins.
