Rare 1992 anime Tomcat's Big Adventure screens again in Seattle on June 15.
The 1992 anime feature Tomcat's Big Adventure will be shown in Seattle on June 15. The screening will take place at The Beacon theater at 5:00 p.m., as part of the "Wamono Nights" film series. This marks the film’s second North American showing. The first screening was held in Dallas, Texas, on April 14 this year.
The film is in Japanese with English subtitles. It’s hard to find, even in Japan. Ryūtarō Nakamura, known for *Serial Experiments Lain* and *Kino's Journey*, directed and wrote it. The movie is 82 minutes long and was made by a skilled team. The character design and animation were carried out by Manabu Ōhashi. Though shorter in length, the music was done by Kenji Kawai, who worked on *Ghost in the Shell*. Hiromasa Ogura, one of the guys who created *Ninja Scroll*, was the art director.

Tomcat's Big Adventure has been adapted from a series of children's books authored by Masumi Iino. The story follows young cat Tom and his group of friends during their summer holiday. Their mission takes them to Mt. Pinto, where they must work together to save the Earth.
The movie boasts a legendary voice cast. Tom is Toshiko Fujita's voice.The cast includes Masako Nozawa, Mika Kanai, Minami Takayama, and Ryūsei Nakao. It also features Akio Ōtsuka, Chika Sakamoto, Hiromi Tsuru, and Kappei Yamaguchi.
