Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4 Is Back This July

  • India Today Gaming
  • May 30, 2025 (UPDATED: May 30, 2025 20:08 IST)

Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4 premieres on July 4 (early July 5 JST) on Animeism. Discover the latest plot twists, cast, and why this messy romantic comedy keeps fans hooked!

Just when you thought it couldn’t get messier, Rent-A-Girlfriend returns for its fourth season on July 4, airing deep into the night at 2:23 AM JST on the Animeism block. Because, of course, this kind of emotional damage belongs in the graveyard slot. (Note: It will technically air July 5 at 2:23 AM JST on the Animeism block as Japanese TV listings mark it as late-night July 4 due to how they schedule post-midnight shows)

So, If you’ve stuck around this long, you already know the deal: Kazuya, the king of overthinking and underachieving, is still caught in a relationship that’s more fiction than fanfic. He’s still telling everyone that Chizuru Mizuhara—the picture-perfect rental girlfriend—is his real girlfriend. And she’s still rolling with it, because that’s the kind of show this is.

What’s New in Season 4 Of Rent-A-Girlfriend?

Kazuya finally did something halfway decent—successfully crowdfunded a film project for Chizuru’s acting career. Growth? Maybe. Delusion? Always. But just as things start to feel like they might shift into “real relationship” territory, Ruka decides it’s her turn again, cranking the possessiveness to eleven.

Then there’s Mami, the ex with that cryptic smile and a tendency to show up exactly when no one wants her to. She’s making a move on Chizuru now, because chaos is her love language.

Oh—and they’re going to Hawaii. That’s not a spoiler, that’s a setting. Things are gonna heat up, literally and otherwise. The other important detail? Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4 will be split in 2!

The Cast & Crew In Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4 Include:

  • Shun Horie as Kazuya
  • Sora Amamiya as Chizuru

  • Nao Toyama as Ruka

  • Aoi Yuuki as Mami

  • Rie Takahashi as Sumi

  • Yuu Serizawa as Mini

Direction by Kazuomi Koga, music from Hyadain, and animation by TMS Entertainment, so expect it to look as clean as ever—even when the plot refuses to be.

So... Should You Watch?

If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably not here for relationship advice. You’re here because, underneath all the lies and accidental affection, there’s something oddly relatable about people fumbling their way through feelings they don’t fully understand — it just feels human.

It’s not perfect. It’s not subtle. But it is Rent-A-Girlfriend. And it’s got just enough tension, heartbreak, and dumb decisions to keep you watching one episode too many and if you’re wondering how he’s STILL renting a girlfriend like me, we’re in for some special action this season. So, check it out when it comes!
