The Beginning After the End Season 2 Announced: Can It Fix Season 1’s Mistakes?

The Beginning After the End returns in spring 2026 with Season 2, but can better visuals fix the deeper issues fans faced in the first season?

The Beginning After the End is officially returning with Season 2 in spring next year. Crunchyroll put out the news just before the final episode of Season 1 aired on June 18. They even added a short teaser in the post-credits scene, where Arthur got a new look. TurtleMe, the author, also said something about being excited for Arthur's next phase or something like that.

Fans were excited at first. But still, some people have problems with how Season 1 turned out. The anime didn’t really impress much, to be honest. Some say it was just a very basic adaptation that didn’t bring out the actual charm of the story. There were moments, yes, but mostly, it felt a bit rushed and emotionless.

The story didn’t go as planned

One big thing was how Season 1 moved so fast. It's like, we just started getting used to Arthur as a baby, and then suddenly, he's already grown up with full powers. The anime skipped so many small things that could’ve helped us care more. The webcomic version had more space for emotion and backstory, but here, they just kept jumping from one part to another too fast.

There wasn’t much time to feel anything. Characters talk about important stuff and then suddenly we’re in a different scene. It’s like the show wanted us to already know everything. But not everyone read the webtoon, right? It’s confusing when the anime expect you to just understand without explaining properly.

Animation Didn’t Really Deliver Like It Could Have

Now, when it comes to how it looks… it’s okay but not great. Some fight scenes was too quick, while others felt like watching people float around. The quiet scenes also didn’t work well. The voice acting didn’t feel real in some moments, it was almost robotic. And poor Sylvie—why doesn't she talk? She just sits there looking cute, but she’s not just for show in the original story.

And yeah, character designs… not very impressive. Arthur didn’t seem like someone who used to be a king. His parents and friends all kinda looked like side characters. It wasn’t easy to remember who is who. A little more detail could help but they didn’t do that.

Season 2 Sounds Promising, But Is That Enough?

People are saying Season 2 will make things better. Maybe better fights, more emotions, smoother pacing. But unless they fix the core—like how the story is told, how the world feels alive, how characters build bonds—it might just be a better-looking version of the same problem.

TurtleMe says there will be growth, and that’s good to hear. Still, visuals aren’t enough. If the writing doesn’t get better and the characters don’t grow, it’ll just be another average anime that could’ve been much more.

We hope it change. The story deserves better and fans deserve better too. It can still become something amazing, but only if the team really do more than just touch up the surface.

The Beginning After the End Season 1 is still available to watch on Crunchyroll. Hopefully, Season 2 gives us the journey that we was waiting for since the start.
