God of War Ragnarok can be downloaded a week before release, reveals PS Store

If the reported installation size of God of War Ragnarok was scary, here's some good news.

God of War Ragnarok pre-load date has been revealed. Players who have pre-ordered the game will be able to preload the game onto their PlayStation consoles on November 2, as seen on the PlayStation Store. Review embargo for the game will also lift on November 2, meaning players who are wondering if the game is worth their money or not, will be able to read reviews to help make up their minds before the game finally releases on November 9.

God of War Ragnarok pre-load and size details

A week before the release, pre-loading will help players get instantly into the game when it is released. Given the recently reported file size of God of War Ragnarok, it’s more than helpful to rest assured that you won’t be sitting around to play the game when you’ll finally get the time to hop on to it. For those unfamiliar, God of War Ragnarok’s size on the PS4 was reportedly leaked by a Twitter account which monitors PlayStation Store’s database. They reported that the game’s size can be as big as 90.6 GB.

Industry insider Joe Miller was the first to report the pre-load date and players can also head to their game library to check for themselves. Just choose God of War Ragnarok in the “Your Collection” section and select the ongoing launch date to find out the pre-load date.

God of War Ragnarok will serve as the sequel to God of War (2018) which did a soft reboot of the series. It will be the ninth title in the series. Kratos and Atreus’ journey commenced with the 2018 game and it will be carried forward in the upcoming game. If you’ve not played the God of War (2018) game, Sony had recently released a ‘story so far’ sort of trailer that manages to recap the events of the game quite artistically and beautifully. Check out that trailer below if you’re interested. However, if you’re planning to play it, it’s best to avoid watching it since it contains major spoilers.

After God of War (2018), Kratos and Atreus will now find themselves travelling the Nine Realms in order to stop Ragnarok. Based loosely on Norse mythology, the game is set three years after the first part.
