Microsoft Xbox: Phil Spencer reveals that the company is trying to ramp up production

Microsoft is struggling to meet the high demand for its latest gaming consoles, the Xbox Series X, and Series S. The company launched the consoles in November 2020 on the global stage. However, the pent-up demand for next-generation gaming hardware along with the global pandemic has made things difficult. Both these things worked together to create a temporary shortage of Xbox Series X and S in the market. It is difficult for one to find the consoles online, especially in the Indian market. In fact, some people are yet to receive their Series X orders on Flipkart and Amazon India.

Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer has just shared a new statement around said that the consoles shortage. However, this is not surprising as the company has already acknowledged the demand and shortage in the past. Past reports have also admitted that the shortage is likely to last for some time in 2021. Spencer shared the statement in a podcast with Xbox executive Larry Hryb or “Major Nelson”. Microsoft is working hard for more Xbox Series X, and S stock, details

During an interview with Larry on the Major Nelson podcast, Spencer reaffirmed that Microsoft is “working as hard as” possible to meet the demand. He stated, “it really is just down to physics and engineering. We are not holding them back.” Spencer also added, “We’re building them as fast as we can. We have all the assembly lines going. I was on the phone last week with Lisa Su at AMD.” He noted that the company is “constantly working on” meeting the demand but this is not limited to Microsoft.

As noted around the launch, the company is focusing of manufacturing more Xbox Series X consoles. This is because Series X is the top of the line that Microsoft has to offer in the console market. Spencer also outlined that Microsoft is not the only company facing issues in offering ample supply. Other companies like Sony with its PlayStation 5 series, Nvidia, and AMD are also facing stock issues.
