Two men were arrested in Georgia after police found cocaine and fentanyl hidden inside a Grand Theft Auto game case during a routine traffic stop.
In a very unusual drug bust, police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, made a shocking discovery during what started off as a routine traffic stop. Two men were pulled over on May 22 for something as simple as not using a turn signal. But what the officers ended up finding was far from simple it involved drugs, a stolen gun, and a copy of the video game Grand Theft Auto being used to hide illegal substances.
The car was being driven by 28-year-old Arie Ashekun, and in the passenger seat was 27-year-old Alexander Thomas. Things quickly escalated when officers noticed that Thomas had a gun tucked in his waistband. A quick check showed that the gun was actually stolen. That alone was serious, but things didn’t end there.

Police then brought in a K9 dog to search the car more thoroughly. The dog led them to the glove box, where they found what looked like a regular video game case for Grand Theft Auto. But when they opened it, instead of finding a disc inside, there were drugs hidden in the box, specifically powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl pills.
It’s honestly wild to think about, but this isn’t even the first time someone tried to hide drugs in a video game case. And surprisingly, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. A few years ago in Texas, officers found drugs hidden inside fast food containers during a traffic stop. In that case, the suspects were trying to smuggle methamphetamine inside empty burger wrappers and drink cups.
Similarly, one such incident was reported by Dexerto, tells how someone tried to hide drugs and illegal meths substances in Pokémon-themed cases. So yeah, it looks like some people are getting pretty creative when it comes to hiding illegal stuff.
As for the charges, Ashekun is now facing a list of violations including possession of a firearm as a felon, improper turning, and even having illegal window tints. Thomas, on the other hand, is being charged with possession of cocaine, fentanyl, and having a weapon while committing a felony.

Strange but this whole situation almost sounds like something out of the Grand Theft Auto video game itself. But it’s real. Luckily, the police were alert and had their K9 unit ready to sniff out more than just bad driving.
