The much-awaited anime BAD GIRL has now finally released its first trailer, with a confirmation that the show is going to be starting from July 5. Along with the exciting trailer, there was also an announcement about new cast member joining and the high-spirited opening song for the series. This high school comedy seem to be full of heartwarming, awkward mess-ups and deeper feelings, which might makes it one of the most exciting ones for the summer anime season.
Opening Song Brings Energy and Cast Full of Stars
In the trailer, audiences hear for the first time the opening song titled “Super Big Love!”, which is performed by Tenrogun, a voice acting unit consisting of the anime’s main voice cast:

- Niina Hanamiya as Atori Mizutori
- Misato Matsuoka as Suzu Suzukaze
- Miharu Hanai as Rura Ruriha
The song is cheerful and bright, having a pop style that really matches the youthful comedy of the show.
Another big reveal is that Yui Horie, a long-time voice actress, is joining the anime. She will play Maria Komari, and her fans probably will be happy to hear her familiar voice again, adding a lot of experienced charm to the other actors.

The anime BAD GIRL is being produced by Studio Bridge, with Joji Furuta serving as director. Shoji Yonemura is handling series composition, while Yuki Morimoto is responsible for the character designs. Music for the anime is composed by Arisa Okehazama. Other staffs include Yuji Shibata (prop design), Ken Kawai (art setting), and color design by Hitomi Sano. Sound director is Takeshi Takadera, while the editing work is being handled by Kumiko Sakamoto. Atsushi Iwasaki takes care of the cinematography. The anime is produce by King Records, a company who supported several hit anime before.
Comedy and Emotions Mix in a Story of Identity
The anime is based on the 4-panel manga by Nikumaru, which is being serialized in Manga Time Kirara Carat from March 2021. The story centers around Yu Yutani, a shy high school girl who has a scary face that always gets misunderstood. She becomes inspired by the cool and calm Atori Mizutori and decides to become a “bad girl” to get people’s attention. But her try at being tough often ends in clumsy failures, making the story both funny and sometimes emotional. It talks about issues of how people see themselves, friendship, and trying to accept who you really are.
With already four volumes of the manga released and the strong team that is working on the anime, BAD GIRL could become a most lovable and funny slice-of-life anime this season. Whether it’s the catchy music, the cast’s charm, or the teenage drama, it will be interesting to watch when it starts airing on July 5.
