Demon Slayer: Akaza’s Return Breaks 12.8 Billion Yen in 10 Days at Japan Box Office

Demon Slayer: Akaza’s Return hits 12.8B yen in 10 days, global release begins August 2025.

The new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc movie, the first part called Akaza’s Return, is already making big waves in Japan. It’s been like ten days only, and already it has earned more than 12.8 billion yen, which kinda turns into 81 million dollars or something close. Over 9.1 million tickets have been sold already, which is ot small at all. Even just in the first three days, it made around 5.5 billion yen, so it was off to a loud start from the beginning.

This one is getting handled again by Ufotable, and like before, the animation is top-notch with all them fights and emotional scenes mixed up together. The Japanese audience is still rushing in for this one, and it looks like they just can’t get enough.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie Shatters Japanese Box-Office Records | Beebom

At that SDCC thing last weekend, they went and dropped a new visual for fans. In that one, Akaza is standing there looking all serious, and then there’s Tanjiro and Giyu in front of him, ready to go. That image alone is making people even more hyped for what’s next.

This whole Infinity Castle Arc it’s meant to wrap up the whole anime series.  Akaza’s Return is just the start of three big movies that are going to finish the full story. The look and feel of it still feels like the older ones, but now everything’s feeling more final, more big. And with Ufotable still doing all the visuals, it's keeping that same energy.

Outside Japan Release Already Lined Up

Now that it is doing good in Japan, the plan is to get it out to the rest of the world. They already said it’s going to be released globally between August 14 and September 25, 2025, so fans in other countries don’t gotta wait too long.

This ain’t even the first time Demon Slayer crushed it at the box office. Back in 2020, Mugen Train ended up breaking every record and even went past Spirited Away. That was a big deal. And now, this Akaza one looks like it's trying to follow that same path.

With two more movies still left, the Infinity Castle Arc is already showing it’s not playing small. It’s loud, emotional, and looking like a full-on event now.
