City Hunter: Angel Dust Heads to Blu-ray in North America This July
City Hunter: Angel Dust arrives on Blu-ray in North America on July 14, 2025! Join Ryo Saeba and Kaori in a high-stakes case tied to Ryo’s past and the mysterious drug Angel Dust.

The anime feature film City Hunter: Angel Dust is coming to Blu-ray in North America on July 14, 2025. Released by Shout! Studios in association with Anime Limited, the title is now pre-orderable. This is following the film's initial theatrical run in Japan in September of 2023 and a forthcoming North American theatre screening in August 2024.
A Case That Reveals the Past
In Angel Dust, Ryo Saeba reappears as the great "City Hunter," a private investigator with deadly talents and dubious charm. Operating in Tokyo's Shinjuku quarter with his loyal partner Kaori Makimura, Ryo is employed by a movie director called Angie to investigate her lost cat. While the mission seems most unimportant, there exist deeper links that surface later.
Meanwhile, Metropolitan Police detective Saeko Nogami is following a biotech advance by Zoltech, a company rumored to be creating technology that turns soldiers into near-unbeatable creatures. The initiative is a resurrection of the notorious "Angel Dust," a drug connected to Ryo's horrific past and the loss of his former partner, Hideyuki Makimura.
Old Faces Return for High-Stakes Action
As both quests unravel, Ryo finds that Angie's case is more perilous than he ever imagined. The investigation gives way to discoveries that extend back into the origins of his life as a "sweeper" and positions him against forces hell-bent on dominating the dark force of Angel Dust.
The sequel has a reprising voice cast that includes Akira Kamiya reprising his role as Ryo Saeba and Kazue Ikura reprising as Kaori Makimura. Yoko Asagami returns as Saeko Nogami, with Tessho Genda returning as Umibozu and Mami Koyama playing Miki. Kenji Kodama once more directs the movie, following a script by Yasuyuki Muto.
Fans of the franchise that has been running for decades can also anticipate the release in Blu-ray this summer with a new installment packed with action, suspense, and revelations about Ryo Saeba's past.
