Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to screen Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved in theaters across the U.S. and Canada, basically outside Asia. Originally, it is set to premiere in Japan on June 27, 2025, and the film will be available in North America with Japanese audio alongside English subtitles soon.

It picks up directly where the anime's 2nd season concluded. The film explores further into the emotional arcs of the characters, particularly Kanna's, when her blissful life with Kobayashi is suddenly undone.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid completed its anime run with the second season a while back, and after it was over, fans were patiently waiting for this franchise's return. Only, it turned out not to be a third season of the TV anime series but, in fact, a completely original feature film to take place where they left off.
Now, with Crunchyroll officially confirming a theatrical release in the United States and Canada (outside Asia), fans will finally get to experience this next chapter on the big screen.

Plot Overview and Quick Recap
In the beginning, the events occur just after Season 2, leaving Kanna Kamui in awkward situations. Kamun Kamui, the leader of the Chaos Forces and Kanna's father, suddenly arrives and demands she return to the Dragon World to repair a miscommunication from earlier.
As tensions build between the Chaos dragons and Harmony dragons, Kanna must decide between returning to her father or staying here with Kobayashi, who has become like family to her. At this point, Iruru stumbles upon a hidden power that is driving the shift in the higher conflict.
