Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to Stream on Crunchyroll After Theatrical Debut
Sony confirms Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will stream on Crunchyroll after its theatrical run. With a Japan release on July 18 and North America on September 12, 2025.

Sony said it would distribute Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle to stream on Crunchyroll after its theatrical release. The reveal is among the company's moves to further position itself as an anime participant using subsidiaries such as Crunchyroll and Aniplex.
The movie premieres in Japanese cinemas on July 18, 2025.Overseas viewers will have a rolling release with North American supporters getting a chance to view the film on cinema screens from September 12, 2025. Although no specific date for the streaming release of the movie on Crunchyroll has been set, it will follow soon after on the site once the movie has finished its run in theaters.
This strategic step continues to show the effort of Sony in maintaining control of the anime streaming market. Crunchyroll, already seen succeeding with works such as Solo Leveling Season 2, remains a force in introducing the major anime launches to the masses globally.
Sony Leverages Subsidiaries for Global Distribution
Sony's role in the release of Infinity Castle cuts across several divisions. Toho Animation and anime production veteran Aniplex, a division of Sony, are co-producing it for the domestic Japanese market. The international release will be managed by Crunchyroll, giving Sony a one-stop process from production to worldwide streaming.
This combined strategy enables Sony to dominate both sides of the anime pipeline, both the creative and distribution. The confirmation also fits into recent comments from Sony executives detailing plans for building anime-related initiatives and developing their content library.
New Ventures Indicate Long-Term Industry Commitment
Further deepening its anime commitment, Sony recently launched a new production arm named Hayate. This collaborative effort between Crunchyroll and Aniplex aims to increase original content production and simplify the production process.
As global demand for anime only continues to expand, Sony's investment in studios, distribution channels, and platforms demonstrates a long-term focus. With the Infinity Castle film being a highlight release, Sony is strategically poised to stay in front in the changing international anime market.
