Digimon Been There Since Before, Still Going

Digimon Adventure Is Officially Over, Marking the End of One of Anime

Digimon was made way back in 1997 by Bandai. At first, it was just a small gadget, kind of like a Tamagotchi. Later it turned into a big thing — anime, cards, games, manga also. The first anime was Digimon Adventure in 1999, made by Toei Animation and others.

That one had a group of kids who go to the digital world from summer camp and meet Digimon friends. Those Digimon protect their world from bad forces. After that, many more series came out. It is still popular among fans from before and also among new ones.

At last year’s New York Comic Con, Digimon producer Hiromi Seki said how Digimon is different from others like Pokémon, mainly because of the way they evolve. Now with BEATBREAK coming, Digimon is going to the next step again, trying to reach more people with a new story.
