Food for the Soul Anime Reveals Nana Hoshi in New Character Trailer

A quiet student with a hidden warmth steps into the spotlight as a new chapter unfolds in this heartwarming spring anime

As Food for the Soul keeps airing in spring 2025, there is a new character trailer now showing Nana Hoshi. The clip got posted on Aniplex’s official YouTube, and comes after earlier one for Tsutsuji Higa. It give fans more look at another character in the group.

Nana is voiced by Saya Aizawa, who also was in Taisho Otome Fairy Tale. At first, she looks quiet and not talking much. But on the anime website, it says she left her school puzzle club and joined Food Culture Research Club. Even if she is shy when with others, later she slowly shows her cheerful and kind side when she get more comfortable.

A Cozy Slice-of-Life from Famous Peoples

Food for the Soul is not based on anything, it is original anime. The character drawings is done by Atto, who also made Non Non Biyori. The directors are Shinya Kawatsura and Toru Shunsui, and the animation is made by studio P.A.WORKS. Story writing is done by Yoshihiro Hiki, and Hajime Mitsuda did the character designs for animation part. Music is by Hitomi Mizutani, who is famous for calm sound style.

The anime has happy opening song called "Sonna Mon ne" and it’s sung by asmi. Then, there is ending theme “Miso Soup and Butter,” by Reira Ushio, which came out in 2023. The show began on April 12 in Japan.

Cooking, Feelings, and Changing

This story is about Mako, a girl in university who is new to living alone. She is too nervous to go eat at places by herself, so she start cooking small but tasty meals at her home. Everything changes when she joins a food club, and there she meets classmates like Nana and Tsutsuji. They try new foods, laugh together, and grow up a little by little through cooking and friendship.

Food for the Soul is streaming now on Crunchyroll, but not available in Japan, China, Korea, or Mongolia.

As the season goes on, there are more feelings and character scenes, making the soft and heartwarming tone even stronger. Every episode reminds that food isn’t just for stomach—but also for heart.
