Haigakura Anime Comeback Confirmed: Full Restart and New Episode Release Dates

Haigakura anime returns with a full rebroadcast starting July 3, followed by the long-awaited new episode airing in Japan on August 21, 2025

The Haigakura anime is finally returning. After the break that happened in 2024, the show will start from the beginning again on July 3, 2025 in Japan. They said this is a good way to help everyone remember the story before the eighth episode drops on August 21. That one is going to be the first brand new episode since the pause.

The news was shared through the anime’s official website, and yeah, they dropped a trailer too. The anime had stopped airing last year, after episode seven, because the team said they needed to maintain the “quality of the show.” The creators also said they needed more time to show the true charm of the series.

What’s Haigakura Story Even About?

The anime is adapted from a manga by Shinobu Takayama and has a fantasy feel with some myth and action in it. The world in the story is not doing so well. It’s falling apart actually. In this world, immortals and humans live together. The main character, Ichiyo, is something called a kashi, and he goes around with Tenko to find his family and figure out his past. A group called the Four Perils might have the answers they’re looking for.

The manga itself started all the way back in 2008 and then continued online from 2015, and till now it’s got 17 volumes out. It’s pretty well known among fans of fantasy manga.

The Team Behind It and the Voice Actors

Typhoon Graphics is in charge of animating it. The direction is done by Junichi Yamamoto (he also did Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion), and Yu Murai is doing the writing. Character designs were made by Masaki Sato who worked on Record of Ragnarok, and the music composer is Yuki Kurihara, who co-composed for Blue Orchestra.

The voice cast has some well-known names too:

  • Takeo Otsuka is voicing Ichiyo
  • Kaito Ishikawa is Tenko
  • Lynn voices Hakushurin
  • Hiro Shimono as Ransaiwa
  • Satoshi Hino plays Sonto

Where You Can Watch It

If you’re not in Japan, don’t worry. Haigakura is being streamed in other places too. It’s available on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, Muse Asia, Anime Onegai, ADN, and even It’s Anime’s YouTube channel, but depends where you live. Not every region has it.

The new trailer that just came out gives us a peek of what to expect—more action, more mystery, and probably more emotional stuff. It looks like they really took the time to polish everything. Whether you saw it before or just hearing about it now, this summer might be the right time to jump into Haigakura. You can catch up from the beginning and get ready before episode eight finally airs.
