Various principal team members are also working in the background. Keisuke Kojima is working on character design as well as the role of Executive Animation Director. Keikankun Yamaguchi is handling the art direction. Yasuyuki Muto has worked on the script, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi has composed the music.

The plot revolves around Togashi, a very quick sprinter. When he was young, he would always win the 100-meter races without even trying hard. In grade six, there is a new student, Komiya. Komiya doesn't know much about running, but is always trying hard. Togashi decides to teach him how to run better. Then, Komiya began to feel that he, too, could win. Many years later, they have both grown and meet again at the track—this time as tough competitors. Both of them desire to win.

Movie Originates From Manga Series

The anime film is derived from a manga titled Hyakuemu, which is authored by Uoto, the same person who authored Orb: On the Movement of the Earth. Manga was serialized digitally on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket site, beginning in November 2018 and concluding in August 2019. There were five volumes released.
