My Dress-Up Darling Anime Season 2 Reveals New Trailer, Cast Additions, and More!

Cosplay, connection, and creativity continue as My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 premieres with new cast and songs

My Dress-Up Darling anime is returning again, and now the second season is officially starting on July 5. Fans who have waited since last season now can feel excited again. The animation is still done by CloverWorks, and the show will bring more fun, drama, and maybe new emotions between the characters.

Just recently, they put out a fresh promotional video. That trailer showed new scenes and confirmed the opening and ending songs for this season. Spira Spica is singing the opening, called “Ao to Kirameki”, while PiKi, a new idol duo, does the ending “Kawaii Kaiwai.” That group includes Karen Matsumoto from FRUITS ZIPPER and Haruka Sakuraba of CUTIE STREET. The music feels lively and colorful, like the anime itself.

New Faces Are Joining the Story

Two new people are entering this season. Ayumu Murase will voice Amane Himeno (some may know him as Kage from Ranking of Kings), and Shohei Komatsu will play Shiki Kashiwagi (also voiced in Wise Man’s Grandchild). These characters will bring new dynamic into the group.

Returning cast is still here too:

  • Hina Suguta as Marin
  • Shoya Ishige as Gojo
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Sajuna
  • Hina Yomiya as Shinju
  • Atsushi Ono as Kaoru

People Behind the Scenes

The team working on Season 2 mostly same as before. Keisuke Shinohara is directing it again, while Yoriko Tomita handles the script and story setup. Kazumasa Ishida is drawing the character designs and also serves as one of animation heads.

Music for this season was done by Takeshi Nakatsuka along with Hiroki Nozaki. There’s also support staff taking care of important details, like Erika Nishihara for costumes and Mai Yamaguchi for color choices. With all of them back, the look and feel of Season 2 will match with the first one.

This anime is based on a manga by Shinichi Fukuda, published in Young Gangan. The story follows Wakana Gojo, a boy who just want to make Hina dolls, but he’s shy and alone. His classmate Marin Kitagawa, who loves cosplay, finds out about his hobby. That changes everything.

Even if they are very different from each other, they start to connect. They work together on costumes, and little by little, feelings grow. That’s what make the show special — it’s not just romance, it’s about passion and friendship too.

Where You Can Watch

Crunchyroll already has the first season, and they will also stream the new one as it airs in Japan. So from July 5, fans everywhere can enjoy the next chapter.
