New Visual and Trailer Spotlight Riyo in Upcoming Gachiakuta Anime

Rudo fights monsters in a trash-filled world after being exiled for a crime he didn't commit.

The crew of the upcoming anime Gachiakuta has revealed a fresh visual and brief trailer showcasing Riyo, another of the prominent characters. The release comes after earlier teasers showing Rudo, Enjin, and Zanka. The anime is set to be released in Japan in July 2025, with worldwide streaming on Crunchyroll in a number of regions such as North and South America, Europe, Oceania, and select regions of Asia and the Middle East.

Riyo is performed by Yumiri Hanamori, who has worked on Laid-Back Camp and Hell's Paradise. She is first seen as a lighthearted and cheerful character who becomes serious during battles. She is a "Giver" who wields a weapon named "the Ripper" with her feet. One of the strong lines displayed on the visual states: "I sure am itching to go up against such a big, tough guy!"

Experienced Staff and A-List Cast Off the Screen

The anime is an adaptation of Kei Urana's manga, and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou is credited for design assistance. Fumihiko Suganuma is directing the series at animation studio bones film. Hiroshi Seko is responsible for series composition, and character designs fall under the care of Satoshi Ishino, who is also the chief animation director. Music has been composed by Taku Iwasaki, a renowned name that comes from Gurren Lagann.

A Tale of Vengeance from the Depths

Gachiakuta is the tale of Rudo, a youth in the slums of a floating city. When falsely accused of murder, he is pushed off the edge of the city into a wasteland of garbage and horror creatures. There, he finds a group called the Cleaners who battle the creatures, searching for the truth of his exile and a means to combat the corrupt society that drove him out.
