Original Anime Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse Set to Debut This July
Time-loop fantasy where a delinquent trains to save a girl from a fatal fate.

The original anime series Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse will debut on July 2, 2025, at 24:45 JST (or 12:45 a.m. on July 3) as part of Fuji TV's +Ultra broadcast schedule. Being produced by david production, the same studio that created JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the series is their first completely original anime title.
A new promotional trailer has revealed four additional cast members, adding to the previously announced voice cast. The complete main cast is:
- Taihi Kimura as Takeru Narihira
- Maaya Uchida as Tsukimiya
- Ryohei Kimura as Abeno Seimei
- Kaito Ishikawa as Atsunaga
- Anna Nagase as Yura
- Marina Inoue as Kazura
- Chihaya Yoshitake as Shino
The project also boasts a famous creative team.Hideya Takahashi, a veteran of the team behind JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, is also the mastermind behind the direction of the series. It is developed by Hayashi Mori (Cells at Work! CODE BLACK), character design by Kazuaki Morita (Classroom of the Elite), the initial concept designed by Fujiko Sakuno and Akuto Sato, with background research provided by Katsuie Shibata and concept design by Kitsuneiro. Music was done by Masahiro Tokuda .
The narrative focuses on Takeru Narihira, an isolated high school delinquent who frequently daydreams about a girl named Tsukimiya. After experiencing an accident, he finds himself waking up in a remodeled version of medieval Kyoto known as Denji Heian-kyo. There, he learns that Tsukimiya exists and that the city is guarded by a fabled onmyoji named Abeno Seimei.
Their meeting is interrupted by a strange black fog, the "Black Mist," which sends a creature called an "Oni" to kill both Takeru and Tsukimiya. But Takeru awakens once more in the same location—alive. Seeing that he's stuck in a time loop, Takeru decides to study under Abeno Seimei in order to become an onmyoji himself. His mission: to alter fate and save Tsukimiya from her foreordained demise.
