Sakamoto Days Anime Part 2 Set for Summer Premiere

Sakamoto Days Part 2 premieres July 14 with a new theme song by Kroi and returning staff.

The anime series adaptation of Sakamoto Days will be back with its second part on July 14, 2025. A recently released main trailer on the official website confirmed the release date and revealed the new opening theme, "Method", by the rock band Kroi.

Sakamoto Days Anime Part 2: Kroi Returns to Anime Music Scene

Kroi, a five-member Japanese band formed in 2018, continues its growing connection to anime with “Method”. This will be their third contribution to anime theme music. They previously performed “Hyper” for UNDER NINJA in 2023 and “Sesami” for BUCCHIGIRI?! in 2024. The band, signed under Pony Canyon’s IRORI Records since 2021, expressed their excitement in a statement posted on the anime’s official social media.

Their music genre, characterized by its fusion of rock, funk, and contemporary rhythms, provides a gritty bite to the new episodes, paving the way for the intense action and drama of characters that is anticipated in Part 2.

Production Team Returns for Continuation

TMS Entertainment is producing the anime. Masaki Watanabe, who previously worked on Bartender, is directing the series. Taku Kishimoto, who previously worked on BLUE LOCK, is taking care of the series composition. Yo Moriyama, who previously directed MEGALOBOX, is responsible for the character design. Yuki Hayashi, best known for working on My Hero Academia, is providing the music.

The initial half of the series ran from January to March 2025 and comprised 11 episodes. It ran globally on Netflix, and its exposure reached as far as globally. 

A Quiet Life Interrupted

Sakamoto Days tracks Taro Sakamoto, a former legendary assassin who has renounced his bloodstained past and now lives a quiet life with his wife and child.Today, he runs a small neighborhood store, and his peaceful days are disrupted when an acquaintance from his past comes along with a threatening ultimatum: return to his lethal job or be killed. 

The series contains thrilling action, comedy, and dramatic moments and has received both fans' and critics' acclaim. Suzuki Yuto's manga is officially serialized in English by VIZ Media.
