Summer Pockets Anime Movie Coming in Cinema This August: Here's All You Need To Know
Summer Pockets anime film hits Japan theaters with a re-edited story this August.
Now they announced that the Summer Pockets anime gonna released as a movie in Japan. They said in one live event that there will be a 7-year celebration after the original game. That game initially came out on PC back in 2018. This movie is not entirely new, but a re-edited TV anime, and is going to be released in theaters from August 15.
The anime is based on a visual novel produced by Key, the same company that did Angel Beats and Kanon. That anime began on April 7, 2025. It's a melancholy story with emotional moments and a gentle type of feeling, not action per se.
Island Time, Strange Girls, and Lost Memories
Principal boy, Takahara Hairi, traveled to Torishirojima island when his grandma died. He has to repair her things. But he came there and encountered some girls who behaved quietly and obliquely. They are all pursuing something that is not perceived using the eyes.
When he was staying there, he began to feel memories that had disappeared before. The sea, the location, the heat during the summer – they all remind him of something long ago. The film version is condensed, yet it will also convey that feeling. It lays more emphasis on significant scenes and emotional moments.
Streaming Occurs Everywhere, But Movies Only in Japan
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime part already in most countries. It is available for viewing to people in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and so on. But the movie version is available only in Japanese theaters at this time.
Perhaps it will turn out outside later, but don't speak too soon. This movie could be a good option for those who don't want to sit through the entire series once more or who have never seen it at all. The cut version presents the main story quickly.
