Why Attack on Titan Is the Greatest Anime of All Time

Attack on Titan stands as one of the greatest anime ever, blending powerful storytelling, epic visuals, and emotional depth over a decade-long journey

When the Attack on Titan manga first came out in 2009, not many people thought it was going to become so big. But when the anime dropped in 2013, suddenly everything just changed quickly. Fans from many countries started watching, and even after ten years, they haven’t stopped. It finally ended in 2023, but people still talk about it. Normally, shows do not stay this popular for so long. But this one, it's different.

In the beginning, it only looks like humans fighting giant monsters who eat them. But later, the story started going in another direction. Things turn serious and confusing. It talks about war, lies, freedom, and too much pain. People in the anime itself don’t fully understand what’s happening. Even we who watch it feel confused sometimes. Maybe that’s what makes it more interesting.

Each character has their reason why they do what they do. Few of them want to save lives, while others only want to take revenge. And sometimes you even feel like agreeing with them. The show kind of makes you think about good and bad.

Sound, animation, and emotions, everything works well for Attack on Titan

One of the best parts is how the anime sounds and looks. The music, mostly by Hiroyuki Sawano-san, it’s just on another level. In some scenes, when sad things happen or a battle is going on, the background music just hits the feeling properly.

Whether you hear it in English dub or Japanese sub, both actors give full emotion. You can feel what the character is feeling. Especially during screaming parts or death scenes.

The animation quality also changes with seasons. In later seasons, the Titans run so fast, ODM gears look crazy, flying here and there. Sometimes you forget it’s anime, it feels like cinema-level action. It moves sharply, intensely, like too real.

Attack on Titan isn’t only popular because of fighting Titans or cool uniforms. What hits differently is how stories go deep into feelings and twist your brain. Some of the big reveals come early, some shock you at the end. And each time, people just sit and say, “What did I just see?”

The characters all had different goals, pain, and reasons they fought for. Many of them stay with you even after you finish. That’s why this anime has become more than just a normal show. It turned into something fans don’t forget. Maybe even after years, people still remember.
