WIND BREAKER Live-Action Movie Announced After Season 2 Finale

WIND BREAKER live-action movie hits theaters in December 2025, bringing Haruka Sakura's intense battles from anime to the big screen for fans worldwide

After WIND BREAKER anime second season ended, one big news came out—there’s a live-action movie coming. Right after the final episode broadcast, a website and X (before called Twitter) account opened up. They also shared a visual and a short teaser video with it. The movie will hit Japanese theatres in December 2025.

Kentaro Hagiwara, who did the Blue Period film before, is in charge of directing. Script is being written by Yosuke Masaike, and Yoshitaka Kamo is working as the producer. We don’t know the cast yet, but the staff has worked on some really good projects before.

The anime, done by Studio CloverWorks, was directed by Toshifumi Akai. It had intense fighting scenes and good music by Ryo Takahashi. Many fans enjoyed how the show handled both action and emotional parts. Hiroshi Kamiya joined recently as Chika Takiishi, a strong character that showed up in Season 2.

About The Story

The story tells about Haruka Sakura. He’s a first-year student who came to Furin High, a school where most students like fighting. But not just for fun—some of them, like the group called Bofurin, actually want to keep the town safe. Haruka only wanted to fight at first, but slowly started to see meaning in protecting others too. That made him change and become stronger inside also.

Crunchyroll is still streaming the series in sub and dub for fans worldwide. Also, the manga is still going on and is available in English from Kodansha USA. So the story doesn’t end here.

WIND BREAKER is getting bigger, with a movie coming later this year. From manga to anime and now to real people acting it, the journey continues. Now, fans are only waiting to see who will play the main characters and how the story will look on the big screen.
