The highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 has wrapped up its Round 1 stage, with 496 teams securing their spots in the upcoming Round 2. From February 16 to February 23, a total of 1024 squads competed fiercely across iconic maps like Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok, all aiming to progress further in the competition. This pool included 1016 teams from the In-Game Qualifiers and the bottom eight squads from The GRIND: Group D.
Round 1 Overview: Intense Battles and Qualification Process
During the week-long Round 1, teams faced off in a series of matches, with the top-performing squads earning a place in the next phase. Out of the 1024 participants, 448 teams advanced by finishing among the top seven in their respective groups. An additional 48 teams, ranked highest on the overall leaderboard from the remaining squads, also secured spots in Round 2.
Krafton India Esports has begun notifying successful teams about their progression through official messages, marking a crucial milestone in this year’s competition. The inclusion of realme as the official smartphone partner for both BGIS 2025 and the upcoming BMPS 2025 highlights the growing prominence of mobile esports in India.
What to Expect in BGIS 2025 Round 2
Round 2 of BGIS 2025 will feature a total of 512 teams, combining the 496 squads from Round 1 with 16 additional teams from The GRIND including the bottom eight from Group C and the top eight from Group D. Over the span of four days, these teams will battle for a coveted place in Round 3.
From this stage, 224 teams will advance by finishing within the top seven of their respective groups. An additional 16 teams with the highest overall standings outside these groups will also move forward, ensuring that only the best-performing squads continue their journey toward the BGIS 2025 championship title.
