The OB49 Advance Server of Free Fire has been launched by Garena, offering the ultimate preview opportunity for selected players to get a glimpse of possible features and changes in the future. The server is running from May 6 to May 16, 2025, and in this span, selected players get the rare chance to test the new content before it officially hits the game and, therefore, influence its final form through their feedback.

New Map: Solara- One of the features most eagerly awaited in OB49 is the new Josla map, which is divided into three, far-distinct zones, each opening unique opportunities for gameplay:

Futuristic Tower Zone: An urban setting with massive skyscrapers and a high-tech ambience, this location offers some decent vantage points and intense close-quarter combat.

Mountainous Region: Rugged and extremely elevated terrain makes for the most novel challenges, with narrow passageways and cliffs forcing players to think of tactics while moving.

Desert Region: A great distance away from the Kalahari map, this dry and hot region is full of vast sandy plains and limited cover, placing a strategic position in front of its players and encouraging fast-paced gameplay.
QR Code Scanner- Enhancement in in-game interactions has led to the addition of a QR Code Scanner in the lobby area. This will allow players to scan QR codes for special and exclusive content that will provide additional gratification apart from bonus or reward points in the otherwise regular gameplay.
Character Ability Adjustments- Several character ability balances have been applied in the OB49 update so that gameplay is better balanced, and players can think out more strategies. These very changes aim at making the characters more versatile so that more strategies can be used midway through the match.
Auto Gloo Wall Feature- Being one of the most sought-after changes, the addition of the Auto Gloo Wall feature will change Free Fire's way of defence. It ensures the Gloo Walls are deployed automatically when their Put action is accepted by the player's fast reflexes during intense combat moments, thus offering better defence and increased chances of survival.
