VALORANT Dataminer’s Reveal Replay System Icons Added in Patch 10.02

Valorant Patch 10.02 adds replay system icons, hinting at a long-awaited feature for gameplay analysis.

Since its launch back in 2020, Valorant players have been awaiting one key feature from the devs- the replay system. While many fans eagerly await this tool, even going as far to protest on Valorant’s official media sites by trolling and making memes, ultimately it has not been easy for the game to implement this tool with the various issues and problems present.

It's to no one's surprise why players would want the replay system; it would enable players to review their matches, analyze their gameplay and develop strategies by examining their performance and that of their opponents.

New Hints Found in Patch 10.02

VALORANT Patch 10.02 came into the game on February 4 2025 without any major surprises. The update mostly included bug fixes and changes to the game's Premier Mode UI. However, data miners immediately noticed something eye-catching, Icons for the Replay System had been added to the game files within the game's official files!

Previous tests

Valorant wasn’t originally built to support a replay system. Adapting the game’s engine to handle this functionality has introduced several technical hurdles. Early internal prototypes in 2024 reportedly faced issues such as:

  • Doors appearing closed in replays when they were actually open during the match.
  • Abilities not displaying correctly, such as teammates not appearing flashed when they actually were.
  • Sound inconsistencies along with other synchronization problems.

New insights

Riot wants to ensure that the system is accurate and reliable before releasing it to the players. Some progress has been made with the current addition within the prototype, featuring a "Free Cam view" that allows players to navigate the map and review gameplay from various perspectives.
