Sebastian is desperately looking to find her a respite. However, his story soon takes a dark turn as he ends up casting the Killing Curse on one of his own who came in his way. Avada Kedavra- Requirements

In order to be able to unlock In the Shadow of Relics, you need to be a minimum of Level 28. Now that isn’t even a requirement for finishing off the final boss of the main story. Additionally, you will also have to have completed the Main Quest Lodgok’s Loyalty, along with the relationship quest line of Sebastian Sallow up until then.

In the Shadow of Relics comes to a close with you meeting Sebastian outside the tomb, where you discuss the Killing Curse that he just cast. When Sebastian questions his actions, with “If I hadn’t known how to cast it-”, you will have to respond with either of the two following options- “No one should know that curse.” and “Everyone should know that curse.” Choose the latter, after which Sebastian will offer to teach it to you. You can confirm your choice with “Yes please” to learn Avada Kedavra.

In case you select options that don’t let you learn the curse, you will be given another option in the next quest, In the Shadow of Fate. Ominis Gaunt will present you with the choice of turning Sebastian in. Here you need to choose “We must not turn Sebastian in”, after which Sebastian will once again offer to teach you Avada Kedavra.

In case you do turn Sebastian in, he will be taken away by the Ministry authroities, and you won't be able to learn Avada Kedavra. This way, Hogwarts Legacy has multiple endings.

Avada Kedavra Usage- Details

You becoming a Dark Wizard or Witch, by casting an Unforgivable Curse, does not affect your main story or gameplay in any way. However, if any of the characters that you interact with, witness you casting one, they will react to it in some way or the other. Also, Avada Kedavra is disabled within the Hogwarts castle. So you cannot use it on fellow students either.

At the same time, you cannot always cast the Killing Curse on all enemies. You cannot even use it to finish off the Final Boss. Additionally, it takes more time than usual for the meter to recharge before you can cast it again. Therefore when it comes to strategizing during combat, it is best to save it for the big enemies that usually deal as well as take more damage.
