First up, the company is yet again delaying its open-world pirate title, “Skulls & Bones”. Ubisoft also reaffirmed its plans about launching Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine as per the previously outlined schedule. This means that we get both the titles will likely land on the global stage by September 2021. Skull & Bones Open-world pirate game delayed once again; details

According to the information available, Ubisoft has yet again delayed its pirate game, Skull & Bones. The game publisher first announced the title back at E3 in 2017. Since the announcement, the company has continuously pushed the title back. Ubisoft also shared a clarification around the delay noting that the development team needs more time to deliver “something really exceptional”. In addition to the delay, the publisher has also “increased the associate studios” to ensure that its Singapore studio can deliver on its “ambitious mandate”.

Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine launch to happen on time

As noted above the company confirmed that the development of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine is on track. This means that both the titles are set to launch before September 30, 2021. The company has already delayed the release of both the games a few times due to the impact of COVID-19 on the development. The company may likely share more information around both the titles in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward 2021 showcase event on June 12, 2021.

Ubisoft tweaks its strategy around game development

Finally, Ubisoft also shared its plans around a tweaked game development strategy. The company stated that it plans on focusing on somewhat smaller, free-to-play titles in addition to the usual big-budget launches. This means that one can expect the familiar AAA video games as well as free-to-play games to diversify its lineup. Several reports had previously stated that the game developer was moving away from its AAA big-budget launch strategy towards free-to-play games. This new information comes just weeks after the company announced its “The Division: Heartland” along with a smartphone game.
