After a Rs 2,000 hike, the Xbox series S now costs Rs 39,990. This is the highest that the Xbox Series S consoles have cost, with the first price hike of the year. The console which was originally priced at Rs 34,990, now costs Rs 40,000.The increase is said to be the result of the Indian rupee's depreciation against the US dollar.

Industry analyst Rishi Alwani informs that the Xbox Series S would be available for pre-orders with the new price from January 10, that is today. However, Microsoft is still yet to comment officially on this. Also the price continues to be Rs 37,990 at the various retail shops at the time of writing. We now need to see when the new prices actually get reflected on the different stores.

Xbox accessories are also becoming significantly more pricey. The Electric Vold controller's price has risen from Rs 6,590 to Rs 6,290. Aside from that, the price of the Xbox Wireless Controller in Robot White and Carbon Black has risen from Rs 5,690 to Rs 5,990.
Last year in November, Microsoft had hiked the price of the Series X console by 5% to Rs 55,990. So the pocket pinches of the Xbox Series X and S now stand at Rs 55,990 and Rs 39,990 respectively.
