Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter premieres July 5 with a new trailer, theme songs, and early Japan streaming, bringing heartfelt magic and romance to summer
Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is coming on July 5, and they have already released a main trailer that shows more about what’s coming. It’s a fantasy-romance anime, and with the trailer, we also get the opening and ending themes. The vibe fits the story well. The main visual also came out — it's soft-looking, with that warm type feel.
The trailer lets you hear both theme songs. The opening song is “Wish for you” by Ami Maeshima — sounds gentle, maybe even a bit sad. The ending song, “Shoujo no Susume” by Miho Okasaki, is lighter, more dream-like. Not a lot else is shown in the trailer, but between the music and animation, it gives off the right kind of mood for this kind of story. Soft and kind, maybe even slow-moving.
People in Japan will get to see the anime a little earlier. It starts streaming early from June 28 on ABEMA and d-Anime Store, so they’ll get to see it before everyone else. Then, on July 5, the global release happens with Crunchyroll simulcast.
Big Voice Cast and Solid Staff Team
The cast looks pretty packed. Allen, the main guy, is played by Yuto Uemura. Tina is voiced by Hime Sawada. There’s also Ellie, Lydia, Lynne, and others, all of them feel like they have that noble character type
Also, some big names are there too, like Kana Hanazawa and Inori Minase, so if you're into voice actors, this one’s probably worth it.
The staff was also announced:
- Nobuyoshi Nagayama is the director
- Studio Blanc is doing the animation
- Kazuya Ishikura as assistant director
- Megumi Shimizu handled series composition (she worked on Banished from the Hero’s Party)
- Akiko Toyoda is doing character designs
- Kei Haneoka, who did Kaguya-sama, is doing the music, so it’s gonna be nice on the ears too
Looks like they got a solid team for this one.
A Story That’s More Gentle Than Action-Packed
The plot goes like this: Allen fails his exam — can’t go back home, really — and then he gets offered a job as a private tutor to this noble girl. But she can't use magic at all, even though she’s supposed to. Allen teaches her in his way, a little awkward, but still nice.. And slowly, something starts to change. It’s not about big battles or anything. Feels more emotional. It’s a bit slow, but maybe that’s what makes it feel special.

Not all anime needs to be shouting and action every second. Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter feels like it’s going to be something softer. The cast’s strong, the music’s already good, and the story looks simple but touching. If you like fantasy with more heart than explosions, this one might just be your summer go-to.
