9-nine- Ruler’s Crown Anime Reveals New Trailer and July 5 Premiere
9-nine- Ruler’s Crown anime premieres July 5 with a new trailer, featuring ARAKI’s opening song, returning cast, and a supernatural mystery story

A new trailer is out for 9-nine-: Ruler’s Crown, and it shows a lot of exciting stuff. The opening theme, “ResoNAnce” by ARAKI, is playing in it, and yeah, the release date’s set for July 5. That’s coming up fast. This anime's based on a visual novel that’s already got a fanbase. Studio PRA’s working on animation, and from what they’ve shown, it looks... quite promising.
Koichi Ohata is directing. His name has been around a while. Character design's by Saori Sakiguchi, and it kind of sticks close to the look from the game. Which is good, ‘cause fans probably wanted that.
Voice Cast Returns Again
Pretty much all the original voice actors are back. Which helps for keeping the vibe right. You got names like:
- Atsushi Abe
- Misato Fukuen
- Atsumi Tanezaki
- Yuri Yamaoka
- Akane Fujita
- Kazutomi Yamamoto
- Tomokazu Sugita
- Satomi Arai
- Hana Takeda
It’s the same voices from the novel version, so that should feel familiar for longtime fans.
Powers, Towns, and Strange Events
The story's set in a town called Shiromitsugawa. Not a normal town, though. There’s these things called Artifacts—objects that give weird powers to people. But not always in a good way. The anime’s got a mix of murder mystery and romance and also some trust-building between characters. One part’s like emotional, then it gets mysterious. It does shift tone a bit.
The game it’s based on had different heroines in each part, even if the world stays the same. So it might be like that here too. Each story kind of works by itself, but still connected somehow.
Opening song is “ResoNAnce”, sung by ARAKI. Very emotional, kind of intense. An earlier trailer also showed the ending song, “Pale Blaze” by Chihiro Yonekura. That one’s softer. The songs really match the scenes shown so far, which is a plus.
From Game to Anime
The visual novel came out in 2017. The English version landed on Steam in 2019, thanks to Sekai Project. There’s four episodes on there already. It was made by PALETTE, who’s known for making visual novels with strong emotion and neat twists. Each part tells a new story, but inside the same universe. Makes it easy to jump in.
9-nine-: Ruler’s Crown is gonna be a bit of everything. Romance, mystery, powers, and also cool animation and strong cast. With July 5 on the way, this could be one of those summer shows people get really into.
If you liked the games, probably you’ll like this too. And if you’re new, still feels like a decent place to start. Definitely worth keeping on the watchlist.
