Shield Hero Season 4 English Dub Out Now: What You Need to Know

Shield Hero Season 4 English dub premieres on Crunchyroll with full cast and crew revealed.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 has started its English dub. The very first episode is already up on Crunchyroll from July 9. This season keeps telling Naofumi’s story, with more battles and problems coming. They got the full voice cast now for the dub, and some of the old voices are back again, too.

Stephen Fu is doing Naofumi again, and Raphtalia got Erica Mendez back. Filo has Brianna Knickerbocker's voice now. Also, Lisa Reimold is voicing Atla and S'yne. Others include Brian Timothy Anderson as Werner, Alice Himora as Sadeena, Wyndia, and Gaelion, and Alan Lee as Ren. Other returning actors such as Erik Scott Kimerer as Itsuki, Xander Mobus as Motoyasu/Solea, Kieran Regan as Fohl, Kira Buckland as Rishia, Jackie Lastra as Melty, Evan Michael Lee as Jaralis and Tsualon, Cristina Vee as Fitoria, and Katelyn Gault as Mirellia.

Courtney Sanford is the director of voices for the dub, with Eric P. Sherman sitting in the producer's chair. Henry Mason did the English script, while Kenneth Thompson and Krystal Holmes did the audio material, such as mixing and engineering.

From the Japanese side, Hitoshi Haga remains the director for Season 4, collaborating with Kinema Citrus once more. The story setting was completed by Keigo Koyanagi. Character designs were provided by Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa. The music remains that of Kevin Penkin, who also worked on Made in Abyss and Tower of God. This anime is based on light novels by Aneko Yusagi, and Seira Minami created the illustrations.

Crunchyroll describes this story as being about a dude who was summoned to another world and then got betrayed rather badly. Naofumi was a regular otaku, and then he became the Shield Hero, one of four heroes tasked to repel great peril known as Waves. But in the beginning, he was accused and reviled by many, so he lost respect. With only Raphtalia around him, he begins rebuilding himself.

Now in Season 4, his journey is not smooth, but he is still standing tall. More enemies, more friends, and the past still pursuing him. Viewers can see how he just keeps going on despite the world not treating him well.
