Typhoon Graphics and Wonderland are doing the animation work here. The director is Hideyuki Satake, who before was assistant director of Delicious in Dungeon. The Water Magician Release Date

The opening song has been revealed as “Blue Motion” and it’s performed by Meiyo Densetsu. It already plays in the new trailer, kind of fast but with a fantasy vibe. The ending song is “Tayutau Mamani”, by Misaki, which maybe will be more soft and emotional.

New Characters Voice Actors

Earlier this year, the main cast was already announced. Ayumu Murase is playing Ryo, who’s the main hero. Then Kazuki Ura as Abel, and Kaede Hondo as Sera. Now, they added more voice actors to the team:

  • Genki Muro as Nils
  • Naoya Miyase as Eto
  • Kohei Amasaki as Amon
  • Kaori Ishihara as Rihya
  • Sara Matsumoto as Rin
  • Satoshi Mikami as Hugh McGlass
  • Miku Ito as Nina
  • Takehito Koyasu as Fake Michael
  • Hochu Otsuka as Lewin

They all play different roles in the anime and it looks like the world of this story is gonna be big.

Started as a Novel Before

This anime didn’t just appear out of nowhere. It was a light novel at first. The original story called Mizuzokusei no Mahotsukai, and it was written by Tadashi Kubo with art from Hana Amano. It was uploaded online in April 2020, on a website called Shosetsuka ni Naro. Then TO Books began printing it in March 2021. Also, it got a manga adaptation drawn by Bokutengo, which started in September 2021. Both the manga and novel now are available in English, thanks to J-Novel Club.

What the Story About

The plot is about Ryo, a man who got reborn into a magic world called Phi. He wanna live peacefully using his water magic. But, he ends up stuck in a dangerous forest full of monsters. With help of his smart thinking and a hidden thing called “Eternal Youth,” he stays alive. Over many years, he becomes more strong quietly. One day, something happens and pulls him into a bigger journey. That’s where his real story starts—trying to be the strongest water magician ever.

This anime looks like it’s gonna be one of those calm but powerful fantasy shows. The animation team seems solid and the cast list is long and good. Also, songs sound like they match the tone. If you like reincarnation or slow-paced magical adventure, The Water Magician might turn out pretty nice when it comes on July 3.
