Data storage giant Western Digital has just released SN770, a new NVMe SSD as part of its WD_Black lineup of products. As revealed in the past, WD_Black products are “purpose-built” for “gaming solutions” including PC and console gaming. The SN770 NVMe SSD will be available in multiple storage capacities starting from 250GB all the way up to 2TB. As part of the announcement, the company revealed key specifications of the product including the SRP (Suggested Retail Price). It also outlined all the different stores that will sell the SSD. SN770 will feature PCIe Gen 4 connectivity to offer read speeds of up to 5,150 MB/s. Western Digital claims that SN770 offers “up to 40% faster performance” when compared to the last-gen SN750 SE SSD at maximum speed. The newer SSD is also “up to 20%” power-efficient under the same parameters when compared with the previous generation SSD. However, these claims are only applicable for the 1TB and 2TB models of SN770 as the more the storage capacity, the better the performance and efficiency. The company also noted that SN770 is compatible with both PCIe Gen 4 as well as Gen 3 systems.

As part of the SN770 launch, Senior Director of Sales at Western Digital India, Mr. Khalid Wani shared a statement. Mr. Wani said, “Our WD_BLACK portfolio provides a variety of innovative, high-performance solutions that are purpose-built for every type of gamer, at every level.” He went on to add, “Today we have introduced WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SS, which is designed for PC gaming with blazing fast speeds and additional storage for quick game load times, smooth streaming, and minimal in-game stutter.”

The 256GB storage model of the WD_Black SN770 NVMe SSD will start at Rs 4,749. Western Digital is selling 1TB for about Rs. 12,050 and the top-of-the-line 2TB variant for about Rs. 26,500.
