Cyberpunk 2077 still has bugs and problems

Right after the rollout of the update, several Cyberpunk 2077 players took to Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, and other places to share their thoughts about the supposed bug fixes. Looking at most of the videos out there, it looks like the game and CDPR are still not out of the woods. Some of the issues that remain unfixed include the vehicle spawning in the game. The videos outline that the system will spawn all the requested vehicles in one single place. Besides this, the game still offers an unreliable driving experience.

In addition to the unfixed issues, the new update also likely introduces some new bugs for players. The highlight of this issue is likely the behavior of the police. After the new update, the police either ignores crimes happening right in front of them or despawn in the middle of the chase. We also observed videos where the cops would instantly kill the player on a four-star mark.

One of the videos outlines how all NPCs in the game do the same action and then disappear within mere seconds. Some players also stated that the game loading speeds have decreased and performance now depends on the platform. CDPR will likely release some new hotfixes or patches to fix the remaining issues, but it has not made an official announcement.

The online multiplayer mode may not launch; details

The new bugs surfaced just mere hours after CDPR outlined major changes in how it plans to develop games in the future. It plans to work towards a new version of the game development studio called Red 2.0 with a shift in working approach. As part of the announcement, CDPR also stated that all the changes have pushed it to re-consider the online multiplayer mode of Cyberpunk 2077.

This comes mere weeks after the company stated a 2022 release date for this online version of the game. Likely, the company may further delay or even cancel this mode of the game. Instead, the company may be looking at online elements for the game that may be powered by GOG GALAXY. CDPR has not shared an official statement around the mode to offer some clarification around the word “reconsider”. So, we will have to wait for a formal announcement to gauge the future of this mode.

Finally, the company also confirmed that it will release next-gen updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 this year. CDPR also teased Cyberpunk DLCs, The Witcher: Monster Slayer AR game, and more as part of the strategy update.
