With You and the Rain Anime Premieres July 5 With New Cast and Key Visual
With You and the Rain anime premieres July 5, bringing a heartfelt story of a girl and a mysterious dog-like creature, now with new cast and visuals

The anime With You and the Rain is finally airing on July 5 at 25:30 in Japan (which actually means 1:30 AM on July 6, kinda late night timing). They also dropped a colorful key visual and said about more new cast. This slice-of-life series also will be simulcast on Crunchyroll for global peoples.
Tomohiro Tsukimisato is the director for this anime, he previously did How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno.. The studio Lesprit is doing the animation part. Toko Machida is writing the series composition, she worked before on Uramichi Oniisan, which was fun. Character designs made by Ayano Owada, and music by Rei Ishizuka who did A Couple of Cuckoos also.
Three more actors joined the cast, which making the list even longer:
- Shuhei Sakaguchi doing the voice for Hiura
- Mitsuho Kambe who voice Hojo
- Yume Miyamoto casted as Arata
They will be joining already announced cast peoples, such like:
- Saori Hayami as Fuji
- Yuna Kamakura will be Mimi
- Satomi Sato plays Ren
- Yuzu Yumoto as Kii Ella Krause
- Anna Mugiho in the role of You
- Yoji Ueda as Tatsuo
- Mie Sonozaki plays Michiko
- Kikunosuke Toya act as Teru
- Yumiri Hanamori voice Wako
- Chafurin is voicing the vet doctor
The anime is based on manga from Ko Nikaido. It started serializing on 2020 in Weekly Young Magazine. Seven volumes have already been published, and Kodansha is making English version too. The story is about a guy named Fuji who finds a strange creature on a rainy day. The creature says it's a dog, even though it doesn’t really look like one. She accept it, and their life start changing from that moment.
The teaser trailer also out now, showing off soft animation and sweet atmosphere. It's look like a very calm anime with little weirdness but lots of feeling too.
